This workshop will help attendees to understand how best to implement disability-related training and confidence-building initiatives into their organisation.

How do you identify what disability training people in your organisation need, and how to you get that training out to as many people as possible? This workshop will provide delegates with guidance on different approaches to building disability know-how into their organisations.

We will use a whole-organisation approach to identify the level of disability-specific knowledge required in different areas of the business; from etiquette and soft skills for line managers to procedural knowledge for HR teams. This course will also look at the different training solutions available, from face to face workshops, to webinars, written guidance and tailored approaches. Our consultants will guide delegates to consider ways of integrating disability know-how into their generic training for a more inclusive, productive and disability-smart workforce.

This course will examine innovative models for delivering disability training, from buddy programmes to using disability networks. We will provide tools and tips on how to recognise what training is required, and the benefits of various delivery methods.

For further guidance or training on the practicalities of delivering accessible training or the technical accessibility of training design, please contact Christopher Watkins at chrisw@businessdisabilityforum.org.uk
